Windsurfers in the Solent by Haling Island
Se dice que el Windsurfing fue invetntado en Hayling Island en los años 1950’s, pero el creador que era un muchacho no patento la idea. En realidad el debe haver sido uno de las diferentes personas con ideas similares, pero en los años 1970’s un compañia americana desarrollo la tecnologia para hacer un diseño moderno del equipo para practicar este deporte.

El joven inventor, Peter Chilvers, es aun un instructor de windsurfing en Hayling Island que es un destino popular para practicar este deporte en el Reino Unido. El clima y la geografia de la zona hacen de Hayling Island uno de los mejores destinos para el windsurfing en el mundo.
La playa de Hayling Island no es una de las mas calidas en el mundo, pero la gente viene a nadar y a tomar baños de sol en los meses mas calurosos. Los windsurfers van a diarion durante el invierno. La playa esta dividida para prevenir que tengan accidentes que podrian ser fatales con la gente nadando. Los windsurfers deben estar en el Este, lo que es ideal para ellos.The beach on Hayling Island is not one of the warmest in the world but it can be popular for people to visit to swim and sunbathe in the hottest months of the year. The windsurfers are there every day even in the winter. So the beach is divided to prevent them from having accidents with people swimming in the water which could be deadly. The windsurfers must stay to the West of this division, which is ideal for them.
Kite Surfing on Hayling Island
Now they must share the waters with the lastest invention, Kite Surfing. These guys use kites that look more like parachutes to race across the water pulled by the wind jumping into the air as they go. In the photo above you can see them on a windy day with the sand banks behind them and the Ilse of Wight across the Solent.
